Key Responsibilities

  • Teach international students in WELC programs
  • Deliver program content
  • Create lesson plans and teaching materials
  • Administer and mark tests and assessments
  • Evaluate and report on students' progress
  • Contribute to program and curriculum development
  • Liaise with academic partners for simulation opportunities
  • Create and maintain online course materials

Requirements

Education

Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, Curriculum Studies, Professional Education or related field

Experience

3 years

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of adult learning and ESL/EAP principles
  • Familiarity with learning evaluation methods
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with instructional design methods
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in academic English communication
  • Ability to summarize and disseminate information
  • Ability to adapt traditional methods to new applications
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Ability to provide guidance and feedback

Required Certifications

  • Languages Canada approved TESL/TESOL certificate
