Specialist Pharmacist – Production and Clinical Trials

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in overall management of Pharmacy Production Department
• Final check and release medicines manufactured in NUH Pharmacy Production Units
• Maintain awareness of new medicines and service developments
• Deputise for Assistant Head of Pharmacy – Production Services
• Support and supervise team of Pharmacists, Pre-registration Pharmacists, and staff
• Maintain links with professional bodies (GPhC, MHRA, DoH, NIHR)
• Liaise with QC on quality assurance compliance
• Conduct clinical audits and implement changes
• Assist in staffing and recruitment
• Critically appraise published work
• Interpret clinical trial and IMP requests
• Manage trial documentation and validation
• Contribute to business cases for new staff/equipment
• Manage stock control systems
• Support Health and Safety assessments
• Develop performance indicators for clinical trials
• Advise on advanced therapy services
• Manage ATMP service and clinical trials
• Develop and implement training for new technologies
• Lead specialist teaching for healthcare staff
• Participate in research projects
