Copyright Advisor

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on copyright and intellectual property
• Design workshops and educational materials
• Support scholarship initiatives like open access and creative commons licensing
• Promote awareness of copyright laws and institutional policies
• Collaborate with internal departments and external organizations
• Coordinate permissions reporting
• Provide guidance on University policies and procedures related to copyright
• Advise on access, use, and sharing of information
• Educate on user rights under the Copyright Act
• Develop and deliver presentations on copyright topics
• Advise university leaders on intellectual property matters
• Participate in library and university initiatives related to copyright
• Write and edit copyright content for Library web pages
• Maintain knowledge of copyright legislation and case law
• Seek permissions for use of copyrighted material
• Negotiate licenses with vendors and publishers
• Promote engagement in copyright-related matters
• Collaborate with stakeholders to advance copyright education
• Liaise with copyright specialists from other institutions
