Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate education courses
• Establish active independent research agenda
• Contribute to Program, Department, College, and University committees
• Teach courses in human development and child behavior
• Teach curricula and instruction
• Teach assessment
• Teach bilingual and special education
• Engage in service within and outside University
• Participate in committees and meetings

Requirements

Education

Doctorate in early childhood education, child development, or closely related field

Experience

Minimum 3 years as early childhood educator

Required Skills

• Teaching experience in face-to-face, online, and/or blended formats
• Research methods and assessment in education
• Advancing diversity, equity, and justice in education
• Asset-based teaching
• Strong knowledge of research methods
• Community-based equity work in urban settings
• Program assessment
• Bilingual education experience

Required Certifications

• Illinois State Board of Education Early Childhood teacher licensing standards (preferred)
• Illinois Gateways early childhood credential competencies (preferred)
