Commissioning Lead Substations

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of new data center capacity
• Execute against scope, schedule and budget
• Ensure project commissioning in accordance with Microsoft's standards
• Create and maintain best practices
• Manage contracted Commissioning Agent
• Develop Commissioning Procedures and Standards
• Perform construction site inspections
• Drive project Commissioning process
• Coordinate meetings and activities of vendor project managers
• Manage client representatives and partners
• Attend project meetings and report as necessary
• Report Project Progress on scope, schedule, and budget
• Manage data center commissioning project delivery strategy
• Refine practices/policies and develop methods/techniques
• Provide input to long-term delivery strategy
• Drive Lease provides to maintain Commissioning compliance
• Provide Vendor oversight and performance management
• Prepare RFP's, PER's, and other project approval tools & templates

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Experience

Significant technical engineering experience

Required Skills

• Electrical HV, MV and LV distribution and substation experience
• Data Center Commissioning
• Data Center Operation and Maintenance
• Understanding of UPS systems, switchgear, generators and critical mechanical cooling systems
• Construction QA/QC
• Able to develop and write detailed Commissioning Scripts and Switching Schedules
• Issue identification and resolution management
• Project Management
• English Language skills
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Visio, MS Project, MS Teams
• Proficient in spoken and written English including technical
• Proven Electrical HV, MV and LV distribution and substation experience
• Experience in Data Center facility maintenance, operation, construction and/or commissioning
• Required construction experience with new build projects
• Experience with electrical Test Equipment

Required Certifications

• Commissioning Certification
• OSHA 10 or higher qualification
• NFPA-70E
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• HV-AP Authorized
