Social Worker, Community Mental Health

Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team within Community Mental Health
- Provide clinical work with children, youth and their families
- Deliver individual and family therapy
- Deliver evidence based group interventions
- Teach and provide clinical supervision to students and in-home support workers
- Utilize the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA)
- Provide interventions and follow-up using direct, consultative or supervisory approach
Requirements
Education
Masters Degree in Social Work
Experience
Minimum two (2) years post masters clinical experience working in child and adolescent mental health services
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Experience in case management and community liaison
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Organization and time management skills
- Understanding of the child welfare system
- Knowledge of mental health disorders, including anxiety, mood and disruptive behavior disorders
Required Certifications
- Registration with the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (NVCI)
- Valid Nova Scotia Drivers License
