Key Responsibilities
- Conduct anesthesia for routine and emergency surgical patients
- Resuscitate as a team member and manage critically ill ventilated ICU patients
- Conduct assessment & re-assessment for all patients in OPD, on admission, and prior to procedures
- Provide anesthesia with full range of anesthetic agents
- Provide technical advice and guidance to nursing staff, other specialists and registrars
- Provide orientation/training in new techniques and procedures
- Interview patients scheduled for surgery to assess and develop anesthesia care plans
- Manage patients during sedation and recovery
- Evaluate post-operative recovery and assess complications
- Supervise and maintain documentation on controlled drugs
- Organize call-schedule for anesthetic services
- Organize and direct Q.I. activities
- Assist Chief Anesthesiologist in supervising daily anesthetic work
- Stand on-call duty for emergency surgery, obstetrics, and medical procedures
- Teach junior anesthesiologists and nursing staff
- Conduct anesthesia services for all age groups
- Participate in CPR
- Provide on-call emergency anesthesia services
- Conduct labor analgesias
- Implement OSHAD-SF & NMCSH Al Ain Internal OSHMS policies and procedures
- Report OSHMS hazards, incidents, accidents and near misses
- Assist with departmental risk assessment activities
- Attend OSHMS training
- Comply with OSH instructions and safe working procedures
- Participate in OSH inspections, audits, and monitoring programs
- Ensure safe manual handling practices during clinical procedures
- Follow safety, infection control, and prevention protocols
- Adhere to information systems policies and procedures
- Maintain health record accuracy, integrity, and authenticity
- Follow security and privacy policies for electronic health information
- Apply data and information system security policies
Requirements
Education
Graduate from an accredited school of Medicine with an MBBS degree. Post-Graduate Masters degree or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
Experience
Minimum of three years experience in the practice as Anesthesiology post certification
Required Skills
- Excellent command of oral and written English
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Windows operating environment
- Use of email, addressing, forwarding, attachments, netiquette
- Basic word processing, spreadsheet, and desktop presentation applications
Required Certifications
- Current licensure in country of origin
- DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE
