Key Responsibilities
Ensure food safety compliance through inspection and enforcement
Verify HACCP and SSOP implementation in meat/poultry facilities
Conduct regulatory oversight and sampling for food safety
Interact with plant management on compliance matters
Document non-compliance and initiate enforcement actions
Coordinate with other federal agencies on import/export matters
Perform microbiological and contamination testing
Make critical decisions on product safety and regulatory actions
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in agricultural, biological, physical sciences, food technology, epidemiology, home economics, pharmacy, engineering, or nutrition
Experience
52 weeks of qualifying experience in food safety/quality inspection
