Key Responsibilities

Drive transformational learning outcomes by designing and implementing targeted literacy, numeracy, and language interventions for students with specific learning differences including high-potential learners, directly impacting academic achievement and long-term student success
Lead inclusive education initiatives by providing strategic in-class support and facilitating small group interventions, ensuring equitable access to quality education for diverse learning needs
Execute comprehensive student assessment protocols through formal and informal evaluations, standardized assessments, and diagnostic screening to inform data-driven educational decisions
Manage complex caseloads as primary case manager for learning support services, developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and maintaining comprehensive student tracking systems
Facilitate strategic stakeholder communication by collaborating with teachers, parents, principals, and external specialists to ensure coordinated support delivery and optimal student outcomes
Champion professional development initiatives by leading teacher workshops and staff training sessions, elevating organizational capacity in learning differences support
Ensure regulatory compliance and safeguarding through meticulous record-keeping, confidentiality protocols, and adherence to child protection guidelines

Requirements

Education

BA (QTS)/BSc (QTS) or equivalent, or a BA/BSc with a PGCE or MA in Special Education. Alternatively, a B.Ed or CAPSAIS/CAPA-SH qualification is also acceptable. Preferred qualifications include experience in Speech and Language Therapy.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of special educational/learning support teaching in a diverse setting. Previous experience working with Preschool/Primary aged children with specific learning needs is highly valued. Experience with different cultures and familiarity with programmes for high-potential (HP) students are considered advantageous.
