Key Responsibilities

Strategic management of diverse legal and claims portfolio with direct impact on company risk profile
End-to-end cargo claims handling and oversight of hull/personal injury claims affecting operational efficiency
Cross-functional stakeholder management including international offices, insurance providers, and maritime partners
Legal advisory on maritime law and local regulations impacting global operations
Contract review and risk assessment for regional operations
Incident and risk management coordination for both maritime and land-based operations
Resolution of complex container idle cases through legal or alternative dispute methods

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in law required, Master's degree in Maritime or Commercial law preferred

Experience

5 years of relevant experience with minimum 3 years in maritime claims handling

Required Skills

Strong operational and commercial acumen Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Independent and collaborative work capability Fluent English (Dutch is a plus) Flexibility and performance under pressure
