Industry Trends

The renewable energy sector is experiencing unprecedented growth with solar and energy storage deployment projected to increase tenfold over the next 20 years, creating massive demand for skilled procurement professionals who can navigate complex supply chains and secure critical equipment at scale. This growth trajectory is driven by global climate commitments, declining technology costs, and increasing corporate renewable energy adoption. Supply chain challenges in the renewable energy sector have intensified due to geopolitical tensions, raw material shortages, and transportation disruptions, making skilled procurement managers increasingly valuable for their ability to secure reliable suppliers and manage risk across international supply chains. The Asia-Pacific region has emerged as the dominant manufacturing hub for renewable energy equipment, with China controlling over 80% of global solar panel production and significant portions of wind turbine and battery manufacturing, making regional procurement expertise critical for project success. Energy storage integration with renewable projects is becoming standard practice as grid stability requirements increase, creating demand for procurement professionals who understand the complex technical requirements and supply chains for battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Salary Evaluation

The offered salary range of AUD 180,000-210,000 is competitive and positioned above market average for procurement roles in Australia. This reflects the specialized nature of renewable energy procurement and the current talent shortage in this sector.
